Food Item Donation Drive Part 2

16 Mar 2022

On Saturday afternoon, 26th March 2022, our group of volunteers gathered to sort, pack and deliver food items for beneficiaries under 2 welfare groups, Care Corner and Methodist Welfare Services. After a brief introduction, everyone started to pack and label the different items requested. Spirits were high and the sorting and packing was done in about 45 minutes.

It was great to see the camaraderie of the group. It was also heartening to see 2 young teenage boys, who were the children of the volunteers, pitching in earnestly to help.

The volunteers' cars were loaded up and everyone split off in various directions to get the items delivered to 55 beneficiaries. Seeing the warm smiles and greeting the families during the deliveries made the day extra special. It was a fruitful day of getting to know each other and working together to reach a common goal.

Food Item Donation Drive

12 Feb 2022

In the process of helping needy families via our meals and groceries deliveries initiative, we are aware that there are many families that are going hungry and the loss of income from under quarantine and many Social Service Agencies have also seen an increase in requests for assistance over the last two years. We decided that in a brand new year of 2022, we will do a food item donation drive to help alleviate the stress and burdens faced by these families.

Our volunteers came together at two locations, Bishan and Bedok, to receive, buy and pack food donations for our three selected beneficaries, Willing Hearts, Ang Mo Kio Family Service Centre and Montfort Care.

A total estimated monetary value sum of over $14,000 in donations was received for the donation drive. Prior to the day of our event, 3,000 kg worth of rice were already preordered and delivered to Willing Hearts.

Though the logistics were challenging due to ensuring that we adhere to the social gathering limits and a lot of hard work was involved, our lovely volunteers (over 20 of them!) put their hearts and souls into doing all that they can for our beneficiaries and managed to have a light hearted time doing so.

Our beneficiaries are in turn grateful for the donations we provided and we really will like to thank our donors and volunteers for their support.

Stay tuned for our follow up event in March 2022...
